Low Water Levels on Gull and Silver Lakes – Summer 2025

Posted by on September 8, 2025

Hello everyone!

I know everyone is concerned over the significant drop in water levels on both Gull and Silver Lakes for 2025 as compared to prior years.

Water levels are significantly lower this year due to lake evaporation, lower than typical rainfall and a hotter than typical summer.  The critically low water levels in 2025 are not part of a trend over the last number of years (at least at this point).  Given that water levels of Gull and Silver Lakes are not controlled by local, provincial or federal governments, there is not really anyone we can approach to take immediate steps to address this year’s situation.  We will continue to monitor water levels to determine if there is a longer term trend that needs our attention.

Jim Davis, one of our Board Members has prepared an excellent, more detailed presentation regarding this year’s low water levels:

It’s frustrating that there isn’t a quick “fix” to this issue but we will continue to monitor lake water levels – hopefully Mother Nature will take care of the issue next year!
