{"id":238,"date":"2018-08-05T10:39:38","date_gmt":"2018-08-05T14:39:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gull-and-silver-lakes.ca\/gslra\/?p=238"},"modified":"2018-08-05T10:45:11","modified_gmt":"2018-08-05T14:45:11","slug":"update-moody-bay-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gullsilverlakes.ca\/gslra\/2018\/08\/update-moody-bay-development\/","title":{"rendered":"Update: Moody Bay Development"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span id=\"m_-80001502563313400yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1533219155018_19346\" style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, clean, sans-serif;\">Last night, 50+ persons attended an information session regarding the potential Moody Bay, 30 townhouse development project.\u00c2\u00a0 Attendees included 4 GSLRA Executive members, seasonal and permanent waterfront residents, current Ward Councillors some standing for election in October, including the acclaimed Mayor Paul Kelly.\u00c2\u00a0 The current land owner,\u00c2\u00a0 Mr. Merv Smith and his planner Steve Fahner\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><span id=\"m_-80001502563313400yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1533219155018_19550\">gave a brief presentation and a lengthy question and answer session with the attendees, followed.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The actual plans are still evolving. There were a lot of details &#8220;to be decided&#8221; later in the process. Your Executive has serious concerns about both the plans so far and about the &#8220;undecided&#8221; plans going forward.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Documents from the Meeting:\u00c2\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gullsilverlakes.ca\/gslra\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Planning-Justification-Report-Smith-Townhouses.pdf\">Planning Justification Report (Smith Townhouses)<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gullsilverlakes.ca\/gslra\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/Information-Meeting-Material-Smith-Townhouses.pdf\">Information Meeting Material (Smith Townhouses)<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"m_-80001502563313400yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1533219155018_15092\" dir=\"ltr\"><b id=\"m_-80001502563313400yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1533219155018_20112\">Next Steps:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li id=\"m_-80001502563313400yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1533219155018_15092\" dir=\"ltr\">the owner\/developer has applied for a change in the zoning and that must be approved<\/li>\n<li id=\"m_-80001502563313400yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1533219155018_15092\" dir=\"ltr\">the Town is currently reviewing all submissions for the development and at the conclusion of its review then it will be presented to the Planning session of Council.<\/li>\n<li id=\"m_-80001502563313400yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1533219155018_15092\" dir=\"ltr\">at the moment the timing for all of this is earmarked for late August.\u00c2\u00a0 Certain notices must be given to comply with procedure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p id=\"m_-80001502563313400yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1533219155018_15092\" dir=\"ltr\">Your Executive will apprise you of all updates via email and the website.
